Here’s my 100 most listened to albums on last.fm for reference of what my taste is like, don’t let that stop you from recommending me things you think I won’t like though I’m trying to expand my horizons.

I also like listening to small artists, I write a series of artist features all about people less than a million Spotify listeners so if you have any recommendations for that lmk.

    Deltron 3030.

Hes the rapper for the gorillaz but also has/had a solo career before/during/after the gorillaz as del the funkee homosapien.

The album is a sci-fi futurism concept hip hop album.

Our musical tastes seem almost perfectly aligned, so I’ll try and throw out a few curve balls:

    1. AJR - pretty corny, but fuck if almost every song ain’t a bop.
    2. The Districts - A Flourish and a Spoil
    3. Mansions - Dig Up the Dead
    4. Stop Light Observations - oRANGE.
    5. Disco Elysium Soundtrack has been my go to of late when I don’t want lyrics cluttering my head.

    Ivan Torrent - Onyria

This guy makes amazing epic music. Can’t recommend him enough. All his other albums are great as well.

Suite for Ma Dukes by Miguel Atwood Ferguson. Live recording of a Dilla tribute concert with a 60 piece orchestra. Stakes Is High with Posdnuos and Talib Kweli is a standout. Album is on Bandcamp and the full concert video is on YouTube.

In the World: From Natchez to New York by Olu Dara. He’s the father of Nas (who guests on the album) and an accomplished jazz musician in his own right, but this isn’t a jazz album. Okra is in my top three songs about food.

Fela Soul by Amerigo Gazaway. A mashup of De La Soul and Fela Kuti. “Music is the weapon. Music is the future. Music is the weapon of the future.”

Hell of a good album. Cycles to Gehenna slaps, fryerstarter is a little surreal. A good chunk of his albums have an instrumental version too.

    Atmosphere - Mi Vida Local

After going through your list a second time, I don’t see gorillaz newest album Cracker Island on it. I never thought the gorillaz would ever get close to their demon days height but I love their new album almost as much (its close, but you can’t outshine the sun)

Here’s something unique. The album “Acheron” by Mechina.

I don’t think it’s in your regular taste. But it’s unique enough to be a suggestion.

I don’t see any of The Avalanches on there. All their stuff is good, but if you haven’t listened to them, probably start with the original Since I Left You album.

For reference, I discovered J Dilla - Donuts when trying to find more stuff like The Avalanches.
