I guess David Lynch had the same idea (From Eraserhead).

I use an extension which bundles 5 different solutions in one called PaywallHub. I hasn’t been updated for a while because it got hit by takedown notices, but the chrome extension and firefox addon repos are still available, you just have to install it a bit more manually: https://github.com/Angeloyo/PaywallHub
I was thinking so as well. Mostly because of the left pupil not looking like the right pupil, but also the style. The style of shadow below the chalkboard looks like a really odd choice.
As someone fairly new to lemmy, I had to look into this drama with lemmy.world, lemmygrad and hexbear. It has definitely shed some light on who has the big stick and who likes to play police.
Wait until they figure out that anarchocapitalists aren’t anarchists
https://feddit.org/post/7894572 earliest post I could find. It’s a clever exploit, but it was patched 3 days ago.
I had to find this theme (and tweak the colours a bit) to just stand the site. The userscript Lemmytools also helps a bit, albeit half broken.
Reading about the Tulsa race massacre is so crazy, like World War 1 planes, some say up to 12, others at least 8 of them doing stuff like: “… turpentine or nitroglycerin bombs being dropped and men shooting from planes”. Some also suspect the use of dynamite, so it’s possible they were quite literally dropping bombs.
Fuuuuuck… I was really hoping I didn’t need to migrate away from gmail… But looks like this is it.
Who was the lady that was deaf and blind, and famously overcame those?
Might be Helen Keller, very famous deafblind activist. A quote from wikipedia kind of shows how hard communicating when senses are limited:
The next month, Keller made a breakthrough, when she realized that the motions her teacher was making on the palm of her hand, while running cool water over her other hand, symbolized the idea of “water”. Writing in her autobiography, The Story of My Life, Keller recalled the moment:
I stood still, my whole attention fixed upon the motions of her fingers. Suddenly I felt a misty consciousness as of something forgotten—a thrill of returning thought; and somehow the mystery of language was revealed to me. I knew then that w-a-t-e-r meant the wonderful cool something that was flowing over my hand. The living word awakened my soul, gave it light, hope, set it free!
Just last week I was looking up ADHD and autism in blind people, but I was also questioning whether blind people could have aphantasia. Or rather, how does blind people perceive roundness or a circle in their mind? They know what it feels like at least, so is it tied to some other sense? I’m guessing blind people have a way of mapping out surroundings and 3D space, but I imagine explaining how a person thinks about stuff like this is as hard to describe as whether two people perceive the same colours the same way.
“Bloody Just Stop Oil protesters blocking the road, preventing me to go to work just so they can spread the message that we’re all going to die! I HAVE A MORTGAGE!”
That’s actually really cool. I like that the dev has expressed that he doesn’t want to make the algorithm addictive and just keep it random 😅
Most comments with links are straight up deleted from YT comments. Moderation has gotten pretty strict there since covid.
~72 hours. I think I went beyond that, but gave up because there’s diminishing returns for fasting that long, that is, your body starts shutting down in a way that eating again after that period can be dangerous if not done very slowly with like bone broth or whatever.
Mind you, it’s not easy fasting what with it being impossible not to flush out electrolytes, so making sure you get enough salt, magnesium and potassium supplements is a must. Obviously, other vitamin supplements doesn’t hurt. The only dangerous one is potassium, so make sure the dosage is right. Oh, and there ought to be enough calcium in the tablets alone if you take vitamins daily and depending on where you live, if the water is hard enough (like here in Denmark), that’s another source.
A friend of mine, back when we got stoned a lot, had an idea that language, or words, are magic. Stringing together incantations to share thoughts is a neat way of thinking about it. Especially because we’re just jello trapped in a mecha made of bone and meat. It’s surprising there’s not more hallucinations to be honest.
I was already on Mastodon by just having a Vivaldi (the chromium browser) account, and it’s just lovely
I’ve spent most of the day setting up lemmy, even though I joined feddit.dk 2 years ago, it’s only just now I’m taking it seriously.
And, while not related to the fediverse per se, I switched to linux a year ago.
The only service that’s hard to drop/switch away from is Youtube imo.
Like @prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone said, there’s a flatpak PS4 emulator that makes it trivial to apply the patch, as demonstrated here.
LemmyTools did try, but development stopped a while back, and it’s pretty broken.
